I get it, it’s so frustrating for me how my mom treated me growing up then now tries to act like we’re besties and gets upset when i’m distant

I can immagine that is hard. I think we often think that parents should know and be better than they are but they are just human same as anyone else. I’m in no way trying to minimize how they treated you when you were younger. People can change and having supportive parents at any point in your life is a huge blessing. If they genuinely seem like they want to do better then I say give them a shot. People make mistakes. I wish you the best!
