genuine question: how long did it take for you to finally feel comfortable with cutting ties? i'm an incoming freshman and planning to cut ties with my mom soon (unless she cuts me off first)

so for context my parents are divorced. been almost two years since I’ve (rightfully) cut my dad off with all of his bs. it’s been a long time coming with my mom. I’ve told her for years she needs to treat me better, but she’ll have periods of being nice for a bit and then will find any dumb reason to be mean and verbally abusive. she harasses me over text and just threatened to report me to the police, which was the last straw. so I’m done!
