Just realized I might not be at school in the spring and that means staying in this house for a semester and it’s ALL BECAUSE THE MONEY I HAD SAVED MY MOM TOOK. I’ve never felt so defeated in my life.

if you haven’t already, lock all 3 of your credit accounts. experian, exquifax, trans union, freeze all of them, you have to do them all individually. this will prevent her from taking out credit in your name. also place a fraud alert on those same accounts. your school might have a emergency relief fund, look into that and reach out to financial aid. reporting to police is an option but i know that might not be an option in your situation. no one will know if you freeze your accounts

set up a bank account in your name only. you can do this online at any bank branch and your mom doesn’t need to know. start moving your income and expenses there and don’t touch your other account. start changing passwords to all of your accounts she might possibly have access to

also make a credit karma account if you don’t have one and check your credit report. you can also dispute anything you didn’t do on there and it will alert you if anyone tries to do anything with your credit. you can also pull free complete credit reports from each of the credit bureau once per year
