my family literally hoards animals and i swear once i move out i will never own any animals again. at our peak we had 10 cats and 4 dogs (mind you this is a small one floor house) and there is hair, cat litter, and drool EVERYWHERE. they dont clean ever

we are v poor so every month it’s a toss up if we’ll be able to afford food and litter, etc. it smells gross no matter what. there are too many animals to give an appropriate amount of attention to them all. they keep getting more and i’m going insane. mind you i’m literally allergic to cats but they don’t care. my sister brought home a pregnant cat but couldn’t afford to get the cat and her 4 kittens vaccinated and fixed so they just were kept in her room for months. it’s literally neglect

but they only see animals as some sort of stuffed animal only there for their entertainment rather than a living being that has needs we cannot provide. it’s disgusting and so wrong. i do my best to provide what i can and clean as much as possible but it gets to a point, yesterday i had an interview and one cat peed on my only pair of business casual pants. the cats have incontinence issues because they are stressed 24/7. it’s so wrong but my family acts like im the crazy one when i say no to

getting more animals. i’m tired of them getting more animals because they think it’s fun but then all of the responsibility and work to care for them falls on me.

i’m sick 24/7 because i’m allergic to cats, there is never a day i go without breaking out in hives because of the dander, i have to clean the toilet because of all the hair on the seat every time i use it, i have to rinse the shower out because of all the hair and cat litter in it, i feel gross walking around without shoes, im constantly cleaning off my straws and dishes because hair finds its way there. counting down the days until i can finally move out and never own any animals again omg
