just comes with aging and not using UV sunglasses outdoors which causes cataracts to mature quicker! He’ll be very grateful after the surgery and his distance vision will be clear. He’ll still need glasses for reading! Be sure he uses the prescribed drops after the treatment and go to the post-op visits. -optometrist here
