did anyone else grow up with strict rules on when you could and couldn’t sit on the couch, a strict dress code and an occasional “exam” to check for puberty (over the age of 12) bc i’m spiraling and know nobody else who dealt w this !!!

and like i’m just ranting i know that but i just feel like im going crazy!! i wasn’t allowed to sit on the couch if my dad was home usually bc he wanted me to sit w him (until my sister was born), and i couldn’t even wear like bras until 15??? i couldn’t use deodorant until middle school or shave until high school and i just thought that was normal until i realized it wasn’t !

And like i knew my parents were at the very least emotionally and sometimes physically abusive but i never really thought about everything else bc it was normalized, none of my siblings questioned it even when they very clearly didn’t have to follow these rules
