my therapist says sometimes parents stay together even if they want to separate for the sake of their children but that sometimes children feel confused and conflicted about this

i also do think this is what happened with my parents because they become defensive and deny anything if it’s slightly hinted that they’re staying together despite seeming separated

also they both love to talk about how there’s no problems within our family but i feel and felt such a disconnect that only things like doing a part time job or exploring religion made it better
