I don’t understand why people want an ao3 app, the website runs really well on mobile, what could you possibly need the app for

One thing I can think is that when I open safari to look up something or show a picture I don’t like having to swipe out of ao3 or risk one of my students stealing my phone and somehow closing a tab

The venn diagram between these types of people and people who think Ao3 needs censorship is nearly a circle. iykyk

if you are using safari you can go to ao3 website, click the box with arrow pointing up on the toolbar at the bottom, and click add to home screen. it makes a shortcut to go to the ao3 website. for me this is so much quicker to get a new ao3 tab then opening safari and searching for it

I use DuckDuckGo for all my reading to keep it separate and private - opening that is close enough to an app for me lol

I literally have an AO3 tab group on my phone so I can hide those lmao

Going through browsers is so annoying and a bit clunky. Plus with an app it’s possible to download fics to read without any connection.

You can put them in a different tab on safari if that’s easier

browsers can be organized and you can literally download them from the website to read when there’s no connection and have them on your books app or kindle app, nice try
