I hate when X readers are listed to have certain traits. “she’s tiny” “she curled the ends of her hair” “standing at 5’0” “petite” “she’s little” “straight hair” “pale skin” “flat stomach” “blonde hair” etc… then it’s not a true x reader!

It’s just weird how reader is always supposedly white thin petite and has blue eyes, and if not thin than still just like, “perfectly curvy”

And the fics that really emphasize how small the reader is… I don’t know if I’m reaching but it feels rooted in “pdf”elia (idk if I can say the word on here)

I’ll be dead honest I only really read x readers with fat main girls bc it just feels better and I relate more. I do occasionally read others, but it’s bc it’s so close to an OC that it’s fine

Yes! It’s either a self insert at that point, based on current beauty standards, just plain ignorant or perhaps even discriminatory (racist etc). And yes about the body types! They’re either so skinny OR all of the fat in their body is just magically in the breast and hip areas… like come on now!

Lowkey could be a good writing challenge to describe someone being found physically attractive by a character or about intimacy without actually saying anything precise about WHAT they look like or what their physical features might be.

I rarely read reader insert fics but I have found some gender neutral ones that manage to talk about like. Very intimate acts in a way that managed to remain actually gender neutral and not mention specific body parts
