NOT saying that fanfic is “less than” other forms of writing, just that having preexisting characters to work from is my ideal writing practice/warm ups.

On Ao3 it’s an unspoken rule to only write positive things about people’s works unless you explicitly ask for critiques or criticisms. I highly doubt you’re as shit as you think you are. If you’d like I’d beta read for you 👀. I’m not like a professional writer or anything, but I love to read.

It is worth it! Especially in the long term. My posts don't have a lot of kudos/comments (its for the best) but it is really encouraging when I randomly get a nice comment on something i posted years ago :')

you should publish your work on ao3! people love original work too, one of my favs is someone’s original ocs. easy way to get traction/critique if you want it!
