I’m tired of the Kinktober discourse. Don’t like don’t read, follow the tags. Censorship is a slippery slope, especially when we are falling further into fascism every day in America. Banning one topic can snowball through minor links in the topic.

ig i’ve been in a bubble bc I haven’t been seeing any kinktober discourse, i don’t engage in it but like let people be freaks, it’s not hurting anyone

as long as it’s not illegal (ie pedophilia or incest) i don’t see why people are bent out of shape over others actual kinks

there are illegal things in this years list (incest, and i think somnophilia is borderline illegal bc sleeping people don’t want tea (pls understand this reference) maybe others I didn’t look too long and hard at it and did not know some of the words) but at the same time, the first fic on ao3 was wincest, so im not condoning it but some ppl do read and write it and the website wouldn’t exist without it

which is fair that is def borderline i personally don’t think i’d read anything like that granted i did watch ohshc which has the twins. i definitely don’t condone people reading/writing cp specifically to get off to it. if it’s a part of a backstory that’s one thing and that area needs treaded very carefully, but when referencing children in a sexual manner that’s unacceptable.

this argument is so silly to me bc it's writing. fiction. no laws are being broken. people are allowed to express themselves and create whatever they want. if we censor that, then it'll lead to more and more and more and ao3 will become ff.net all over again

This was something I typed up and have been replying and I think it’s been doing a good job at explaining the censorship aspect of it. Either people are like “oooh okay” or go silent

i know that censorship is a slippery slope and everyone is allowed to consume stuff about their kink, but doing it with children isn’t a kink. ageplay totally different (no shame to people who practice or read it). but people are using the same argument with the ai generated borderline cp ads, “they’re not real children so it doesn’t matter”. this’ll just have to be an agree to disagree thing.

No doing it with children isn’t a kink, but even age play isn’t exactly sexual from what I’ve heard. Like no sexual acts take place while “regressing” and it is mainly something brought on by a trauma disorder. But age play does cover a wide spectrum. It’s the college student and professor trope rp, it includes people who for some reason wanna pretend they’re elderly when they fuck. And it isn’t great but I’m not gonna equate the trauma of real life people to words on a page.

It’s the people who act like it’s a crime to write it and that writing it makes them a pdf, even if it’s just someone writing their own experience as a way to get it off their chest, and publishing it as a way to make it not theirs anymore. Kind of like writing something and burning it, but for when that doesn’t exactly work
