I’ve never seen this trope before (probably bc I don’t read much het) but I can absolutely picture it and it does have me seething a little bit bc yeah, why can’t she fall for someone else? Why not that reporter? Why not a trainer, why not a janitor, why not her rivals dad just for some spice? There are so many options, we gotta have some variety (Lowkey making me wanna write these ideas)

i don’t read much het either, but as a bi woman who grew up playing sports my whole life, i like reading about successful women, and that trope feels almost demeaning.
