This. However, people can write whatever they want, and I wouldn’t say that people shouldn’t be allowed to explore these immoral dynamics between characters. It’s the execution that matters to me. For example, is the author showing the results of this predatory behavior and the damage it causes to children, or are they defending or romanticizing it? Are they simply exploring the dark reality of this pairing, or are they trying to convince readers that pedophilia is ok?

same i mean you got books like lolita where the author forces you to see the depravity up close but never endorses the relationship and actually shows its damage. depiction isn’t endorsement and you can depict dark and immoral content without actually agreeing with it. however this is ao3 so there’s many many people here to romanticize and fetishize it but like.. fork found in kitchen. 😭
