I don’t get why ppl even do that like I thought we were all doing this as a fun little hobby since it’s one of the few things you can participate in without any sort of monetary transaction involved

Seriously. It’s one thing if they link a Tumblr that happens to have a Patreon or KoFi links for art commissions or another side business because the links are on a separate website, but posting the link directly on AO3, a nonprofit website, is just tasteless.
