I tried to cowrite a fic with my friend. We never finished it bc when I write, I just dive right in, write from beginning to end and the story just kinda. Comes into existence. My friend writes by thinking of key scenes and writing them in whatever order she wants, not chronologically, without context or buildup👁️👄👁️I couldn’t do it, I need to experience the entire fic alongside the characters in order to write it well😂
That makes sense with foreshadowing. do you do what OP described with the structure of the chapter itself? I plot out my fics and chunk the chapters into vague ideas for scenes but I don’t really plan if something is going to be dialogue or description-heavy, i just feel it out as I go.
The last part is so real, like I was writing a serious, “oh my god she’s going to die in my arms” scene yesterday and realized at the end that these characters are never serious about anything, especially not dying since that’s just another Tuesday to them, and rewrote the thing like if I was there and it was so much better
