Do you ever write something you were really excited about but you’re convinced the writing sucks so now you don’t want to post it? If so, how does one get over that?

Going through this rn too lol. I usually make a draft like I’m going to post it but then I save it to drafts. From there I read it through like I’ve posted it and if there are parts that I would think, oh I can make that better, I go back in and edit it. Putting it in the ao3 format like a pretend post usually makes it clear what parts I’m iffy about! Just remember to save it to your documents too because drafts disappear after a month :)

See I do this thing where I just posted anyway regardless of if it’s shit or not and then later, I’ll come back to it after I’ve moved past that plot point and fix it. At the end of the chapter though I’ll leave a little note and being like sorry this is just shit I couldn’t think of anything

Sometimes I post it anon just to lower my own panic too. Then I worry a little less, even if it actually doesn’t matter lol

Thank you! I just finished this one last night and I want to share it but I’m struggling with actually getting around to post. I should try set up the post and see how I like it there

Oh and when you’re ready to post, use the post new button and post it to there. They get published weird (listed at the date they’re made I think) if they’re old drafts. So the post new will bring it to the top of the tags instead of backdating it!
