i’m gonna admit it i don’t like how mainstream ao3 is getting i think some ppl need to take a fanfic etiquette class before getting on ao3 starting from wattpad, to quotes, to tumblr then to ao3
Melatonin or not you are so correct, people don’t know how to act in fandom spaces anymore 🥲

Yeah… idk if anyone else remembers that one person on Tik Tok who blocked someone because they asked him to adjust his tags, calling them “over protective” or something like that. I’m happy to have more people on the site, but damn etiquette needs to be learned

I personally think it’s because fan spaces became more mainstream during lockdown and now there’s too many NPC neurotypicals who don’t know what to do in a space curated by neurodivergent people

no cuz that’s so real! why am i seeing people in public spaces bashing fics with full name, full author name, bashing tags, reading dddne fics and complaining abt the content??

Anonymous#21w
i saw a writer not tag properly and he said it’s cuz he didn’t want to “spoil the surprise”

people trying to turn ao3 into instagram with asking for like dislike buttons, add feed, trying to get paid for fics by locking them, only putting fics with them begging for recommendations or like 3 words and complaining when ao3 takes them down like bffr
