I don't know any of the drama but that book is a GREAT READ!!

A dude online called Bigolas Dickolas w/ a Wolfwood pfp made a post about the book which exploded the Trigun fandom, then it got so popular that the book became a best seller again, the author thanked them, they got interviewed by NY Times, the producer of Trigun: Stampede bought the book, and then Dark Horse Comics used all of this to announce the reprinting of the Trigun manga.
