try local farmers markets and farms in the area if youโ€™re lucky to have some, amazing produce at low costs and many will have other items for the house (not just food) someone else noted but thereโ€™s are many apps you can also use to look for boycotting specific brands. Local groceries and asian & arab groceries will have a lot of different varieties as well, and mom & pop shops are usually a safe bet

If you arenโ€™t shopping at Trader Joeโ€™s you also shouldnโ€™t shop at Aldi, theyโ€™re both ALDI of sorts. Look it up

WAIT I knew about target, Trader Joeโ€™s too? I hadnโ€™t heard anything about Trader Joeโ€™s! I donโ€™t shop there anyways, but I know a lot of people who do.

Iโ€™m not aware of the reason to boycott them though? Is it because theyโ€™re German companies and Germany supports Israel?

trader joes is like THEE definition of gentrification/culture stealing. they also sell humus amongst other very middle eastern dishes that are made in israel its mega weird

Then shouldnโ€™t you be boycotting all big name grocery stores that have multicultural items? Also humus isnโ€™t unique to just Israel, unless youโ€™re referring to a specific product that is only made in Israel

referring to the specific product. and yes the best option is so shop locally at farmers markets and such but i was moreso asking if people had resources they use to shop ethically. my issue with trader joes is they play too hard into their โ€œmulti-culturalโ€ facade when more often than not their meals and dishes are NOT ethically sourced.

also names like โ€œtrader joseโ€ and โ€œtrader mingsโ€ is weird to me especially when you arent actually sourcing from people of those cultures

I knew about the hummus, the brand you see in most stores. But I honestly had not heard anything about Trader Joeโ€™s being like the other big names. Upsetting but also not shocking either.

Sabre is the hummus brand and Trader joes has a long time history of buying rights to sell a food item from a small business and then ending the deal while making a very similar product that is โ€œtheirsโ€ and not giving back rights to the business/not paying them compensation
