A friend of mine just lost his mom a few days ago, what should I do? I’ve offered my condolences and support but I want to do something more. What’s helped yall that experienced the same thing/grieve?

i dunno if this is helpful bc i lost my mom at a young age. but, where this is so sudden though honestly just being as present as you can, physically or mentally will be enough for the short term. grief is very tricky in the early stages and sometimes even the most well meaning gesture from someone you love ends up making you feel worse. honestly just the fact that you’re thinking about him says a lot so thank you.

Don’t just say “let me know if you need anything”, just do things for them, inject your help into their lives, there’s too much going on in their lives rn to think about what they need let alone ask for it (think: just tell them ur bringing dinner for them tn, etc)

I think being there for them physically helps a lot, so they know they aren’t going through it alone. A presence can go a long way with supporting them

I’ve decided I’ll bake his family my homemade blueberry muffins and drop them off at his house! I’ve made them before and Ik he’s enjoyed them so I hope that’ll bring a little comfort
