i need help. my gynecologist told me the other day that i might be positive for HSV. i am devastated and freaking out about never getting married or having a family. i don’t know what to do

Also, I have HSV 1 and I was absolutely devastated when my doctor told me but it’s been about 2 years since finding out and it actually has has no impact on anything in my life at all. I’ve only had a cold sore once in my entire life and with HSV 1 you dont have to disclose to others because it’s extremely common. You’re not gross, you could have gotten it as a baby getting a kiss from a relative or another very innocent way. Sending love 🫶🏻

If it’s HSV2 I believe you do have to disclose it to sexual partners legally, but even so, you are not dirty you’re just a human with a common manageable virus whose just as deserving of empathy and love
