Probably just wander around a bit and make some small talk with people if you’re not opting for orgs, some friendships happen by chance and they might connect you with their friends

I made many just doing my own thing pursuing good grades, joining clubs and organizations. I was outgoing because I was motivated to do well, I asked for numbers and sent out emails asking for group studies etc. Just being friendly, greeting people and starting small talk while waiting for classes, not being too bothersome in the beginning and letting people open up to get closer.

Sit by new people in class! Sometimes it can be awkward and they won’t say anything but just keep picking random spots.

That’s how I felt as a transfer student. Ppl at colleges are so unfriendly to new ppl 😭

Sit in on clubs and try and observe if there are any “outcasts”. Also if people in clubs want you to come, YOU have the leverage.
