You aren't really friends with every member of the group individually. Some of them are just glorified mutual friends to you (the bigger the group is, the more excusable this is)

They frequently ignore your contributions to conversations. Even if they just didn't hear you, it's still a bad sign that they weren't paying attention to you

Even when you do get acknowledged for making a funny joke or a good point, you feel it doesn't quite get the reaction that someone else would've gotten if they said the same thing. They move on surprisingly fast

Yehhh so this was basically what 11th-12th grade was before I graduated and I saw the signs. I’m in college now and I don’t even talk to any of them anymore (even the ones I got to uni with) and to this day it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made

They don't care about your schedule or convenience. If you can make it you can make it, if you can't you can't. They'll never reschedule for you, but they might for someone else

There is some sort of group(s) within the group, even if it's unspoken, that you're not a part of. It can be a duo in a trio, a trio in a 4+ person group, 2 duos in a 5+ person group, etc.

You have to ask for things that other members of the group are just offered. An invite, food being shared, being shown a meme on someone's phone, etc.

If they mention they hang out without you, it always comes with an excuse. Oh, we didn’t invite you because you seemed tired! You said you’d be working that day. Oh, didn’t you have a date scheduled for that time? Sorry, we were just too far away from your town. They know it’s rude, but they won’t apologize.
