Go to club meetings. Find people who share your interests. Be friendly with people in your classes, and maybe tag along with them if they go get lunch, or go to a club meeting. Greet and talk to people in your dorm.

Try to remember people’s names, and when you see them around campus say hi to them by name. People like hearing their own names and even if they don’t remember your name at the time, it will make you stick in their mind (especially if you do it often) and they’re act more familiar around you (cause their mind says if you know their name, obviously you guys gotta be familiar!)
