I lowkey just picked depending on my favorite type of animal! So because the deer family are my favorite my fursona ended up being an elk. Good luck in your journey and do keep in mind you can have multiple if you think of something better later on >:)

My fursona’s a calico cat!! Yeah yeah cats are super original, but I was previously transmasc (now I’m genderfluid) and male calicos don’t really exist, so trans allegory :3 maybe try and find an animal that you either just like or “speaks” to you in some way lol

For me it was very personalized and metaphorical, but it doesn’t have to be. For example, I know for a fact my fursona some kind of canine due to how i am irl, and all the rest is deeper symbolism

i had a friend with a bunny fursona, and when i thought about which animal suited my personality, it was a bunny. because im very cute and playful! other furries have guessed that im a bunny too lol
