Most people have congregated to Telegram groups, like there's several for Michigan and they all kinda overlap. But just keep trying, long distance is an option too!

I’ve noticed tbh, I’m not even that rural, I’m 25 miles from the border of a decently large city and it’s DRY

Yeah, I’m not really one for long distance, I’ve tried it several times and it just isn’t my style personally! How do you find more telegram groups though? I’ve tried to find some for my area, is there some platform they advertise on like a telegram version of disboard?

I guess it depends on the availability! I know for Michigan they had a Barq group and had links and such, maybe look there for groups, or search them up in Barq, most are public I would assume
