Agree with 1. Go up and talk to people, compliment their suit, ask for socials, but just do your best to read the room if they are uncomfy or not interested. If you have a hard time reading signals, I always err on the side of caution and leave it in their hands. “Love your suit! Can I get your socials? Would love to chat more about XYZ, feel free to DM me if you’re interested!”

sounds hard but literally just go up and talk to people. a big reason people even go to cons is for the social aspect of it, so like 99% of the time you'll have very positive interactions
