Just had our first meeting last night, elected our officers, met our faculty advisor, the vibes were all great! We went out to get Raising Cane’s after, it was very heartwarming to see such a big group of people all having fun and making friends :)
Started a furry club on my campus and we just hit 100 members, wtf chat

Yoooo nice! The only reason the furry group on my campus isn’t an official club is then we’d have to allow everyone in, including trolls and not-good people Like that’s the only reason, keeping trolls out, the discord server has like a small intro area just to weed out those people

You can set some rules in your constitution that allow you to ban members if they’re just there to start trouble And we’ve never had any issues in our discord server, any of our unofficial / informal meetups, or at our first general meeting! Most of the trolls are only emboldened by being behind a screen, but won’t do anything irl

Interesting! But also I heard there was a study that found people who are assholes online are assholes irl, I agree being online emboldens them but like I’m worried they’d still be assholes…. I also go to a stem uni so the people here might be able to do things that other uni students don’t have access to

Oh sure they’re still assholes, but they’re still unlikely to go out of their way to lurk in our discord server, attend an event, just to start shit. And worst case scenario, I had asked that security be aware of us just in case
