i know you said you don't intend on the blue dog thing, but to anyone out there reading this: it is okay to be blue dog. don't let anyone else tell you you can't because it's "overdone". it's a silly animal character. literally who cares if it's very common. if that's really what *you* want to do, you should do it!

If you’ve never drawn a furry before, it may look a bit wonky that is normal (I remember my first concept, drawing of my fursona and good Lord) I would recommend that if you have a specific animal in mind, look at reference pictures of that animal from different angles, especially the face
