$80 for something you will spend hundreds of hours using is still well worth it. People whining about the price point are the same dumb mf who will spend $100 in a night and get literally nothing from it but a hangover. Then they’ll bitch about a game they put literal weeks into.

But you only get a code to the game, you don’t even own the game itself

Do you own a concert when you attend it? Do you own the movie you pay to watch in a theatre? Do you own the liquor you binge on after you’re hungover and pissing it out? You don’t own the songs you listen to. Stfu

Yeah but a game I’m buying and owning for years and years, can’t be taken away from me legally. They can take away your code if they decide to

I’ve considered it. That’s how I determined it’s stupid, hypocritical nonsense you are just parroting off because of something you saw on TikTok.

Yeah it’s not a physical product bud. I also don’t pay for it. If I’m buying something physical I want it to be mine. I absolutely love that all of my old DS and game boy cartridges are mine and I can play them for years and years to come without fear of them being taken

Digital games aren’t physical products either, bud. It doesn’t matter if you pay for it. You’re using it, even though it “can be taken away from you” at any time. You can play them until they degrade, you mean. Digital files have no degradation whatsoever.

You can “expect” all you want, but the reality is that physical media is not the standard in 2025. You might not like that, but that’s reality. I don’t think you’ll ever understand that because you are stupid as actual shit. Go play Pokemon Emerald.

Also, the thing is, I can mod my digital games. I can still do as I please with them. Nintendo is doing this so that you can’t do as you please with your games

Or they’re doing it because it’s cheaper and faster to produce and control. And because physical media is outdated slop with infinitely more limitations from both hardware and software perspectives. Whichever.

If it’s cheaper and faster then why is it $80?? And I still don’t own it??

Did you know that new Super Nintendo games were $70 in the 90s? You want them to subsidize your habit when development costs have fucking quintupled. If we were laying actual market-rate for games, they’d be $120+. You’re a spoiled little brat with no knowledge of the industry beyond people whining on Twitch and social media.

Microsoft and Sony keep prices low because they earn the majority of their actual operating profit from subscription services and accessories. Consoles are sold at a loss. Nintendo makes very little money per game, just like every other publisher on the planet. But yeah, a bunch of whiny little Minecraft toddlers definitely understand.
