Insane? No. Greedy and scummy? Yes Physical games have been slowly declining for 20 years now. Ever had a GameCube or OG Xbox game? The plastic case was durable, they usually came with at least an instruction manual, they felt like they were worth something. First they cheaped out on the cases, then the inserts, now they’re doing away with them entirely. 20 years of training the dumb fucks who buy PlayStation and Microsoft games to think physical games aren’t worth it

People outraged over this are seriously the minority and I honestly question if they’re even real gamers. Games are meant to be played. They were never put on discs to hoard a collection. That was the medium at the time. Digital is better in practically every way conceivable. The one and only flaw being you might lose the license which ive never heard of happening ever to a game, just movies.

Sure late take away the main appeal of consoles where you can share your games with friends and sell them later, yeah lets totally encourage companies to make their games larger filesizes and completely unoptimized, and take on the responsibility of buying extra storage as players instead of relying on buying a disc/cartridge and letting most of the game size be on there…

Idk man I gameshare my entire library with my wife. Hundreds of games that we play co op and only buy once on sale. Can’t do that with a disc.
