If you love pokemon, go with pokopia. If you like playing games with friends, Mario kart, and if you want a fun action adventure puzzle platformer game, DK Bananza was my personal goty last year (with the sole exception of Clair Obscur of course).

saying this as someone who’s played all three games, i’d say: - go bananza if you loved mario odyssey and want an evolution of that formula! and if you love monke smashing things - go pokopia if you’re a big fan of pokemon, like cozy games, and enjoy good and witty writing! this game has a bit of a faster pace than say stardew or animal crossing but it doesn’t detract from the game at all. - go mkw if you have friends you can play mario kart with! it’s mario kart, what else to say lol

I’m mainly prioritizing single-player content and replay value. I’ve never played a Pokémon game before and I’m not too familiar with the franchise, but Pokopia has a Stardew valley/minecraft vibe that I really like.

I borrowed a friend’s switch oled a few years back to play Mario Odyssey, and I absolutely loved it so I know I’d also probably love Bananza. So Pokopia probably wins out in replay value, while Bananza has the edge in terms of a complete, single-player narrative experience. I can’t decide 😭

if you like Minecraft and Stardew, you will probably like Pokopia, though it might be weird if you're not into Pokemon at all. DK is a straightforward 3D platformer/adventure game, as single player as it gets. Mario Kart is (imo) not fun at all solo

Bananza was so good, but I haven’t played Pokopia so I can’t give you a good take. You might be able to find Bananza second hand for cheaper though if you’re willing to look for it later. I’d say it’s roughly a 30 hour game, with good side content, although it does get repetitive towards the end.

Yeah, Mario kart was a bit of a let down with the huge “open world” they added. I wish they prioritized single player in that game mode with more meaningful challenges or a story mode of some sorts. It’s still really good Mario kart during the races though. I could only enjoy the intermissions in knockout tour

Yeah I’d say Mario Kart is probably at the bottom of the list. I think right now I’m slightly leaning more towards Pokopia than DK, so I’ll probably end up going with that. I appreciate the input from you guys!
