I miss redbox rentals. At least they had plenty of one to three day freebies and cheap used. Maybe gamestop should do rentals like blockbuster

Raise your standards. Fuck renting, subscriptions, or borrowing of any property. I want THIS. I walked into a store. I bought this cartridge, I own this cartridge now. It’s mine. I can do whatever I want with it. Break it, copy it, etc. nobody can rip my right to play it by updating my N64. They can’t require I sign into an account where I have to give them a bunch of information on me. The game is $20? Here’s $20. You want my data? Pay me for it.

Renting gives the chance to try before you buy. Fuck a subscription tho. Cause sometimes i aint sure if the game will be worth the full tag

I think renting was a cool concept but it just got abused. People would try to rent and beat before buying. Companies knew this and would impose limitations, people would find ways to surpass those. Dude just give me a game guide and a trailer for the game. Lemme see some content from it just like a movie. Lemme get a cheap ass magazine that gives me guidance like the good ole days. Then lemme take a chance.

I guess I get it. Who wants to “take a chance” on a game that now costs $100…
