Sorry to break my rule but I think I got all the replies I’m going to get. Around 85% of the world’s population is people of color!! White people are actually the minority in reality which means we are the over represented group! 20% of people my generation identify as queer and that number is projected to go up as people de stigmatized and understand it is on a spectrum and rarely ever binary. Also you assume sexuality based on appearance, a lot of transgender people try hard to pass a cis-

And if they can’t pass as their gender identity then they might just not publicly transition, which you wouldn’t notice but they are still 100% trans.

This is also anecdotal evidence which is a logical fallacy this means you base your evidence off of personal experience. Please don’t dox where you live but your probability just in a gentrified area, or just generally white, maybe a mainly Christian population to explain the lack of queer.

Hi!! This is logically incorrect because you are privileged and white and whiney! I am actually half black half asian and gay! By your argument u call white people a minority so wouldnt more rep of theres be good? Also u fail to take into account WHERE media is produced and what its produced of. the most popular medias are of america and I hate to break it to you but most people in the usa are white! As well ur 20% statistic was actually false and its around 7-9%

I did not mean to speak over any voice of someone of color!! I try to use my privilege as a white person to advocate for poc! The mega rich are also a minority but that doesn’t make them oppressed!!! White people are technically I minority but in no way do I think we are systematically oppressed like I think poc are especially immigrants right now! I know it might be 7-9 percent for the population as a whole but I’m talking about gen z specifically!!!

But just because you are gay doesn’t mean you can’t be homophobic or transphobic and people of color also 100% can be racist as well! Most societies praise lighter skin and has it as a beauty standard and I think that’s from lack of equal representation!

And when I say equal I don’t mean every one gets the same thing, im referring specifically to equity! Which mean everyone gets what they need to be equal! I think poc need more representation to be de stigmatized and see just as beautiful and attractive as European features are! Because America dominates media!

But just because one area makes and sells a disproportionate amount of media that gets put into the world I think that means they should take more responsibility with providing multiple voices and creators!!! I specifically look up to Jordan Peele! Which a lot of people think he’s racist for not writing about white people!

But as an artist my comic book I’m writing the main cast is poc it’s set in the way future and not on earth so they won’t have to deal with racism or anything (rest of humanity is dead) but I felt like it was important not to just default to making white characters because I use to not draw any poc until I thought about why when I was 13 and decided it definitely stemmed from racism most of us get groomed into (no excuse for racists just a fact they get raised like that as very young children)

Also 60 percent of America is white which is a majority but I don’t think I see them being represented being equal to 40 percent also they are usually side characters because Hollywood doesn’t think poc will sell as much unless they are trying to exploit the community!

I’ll never understand anything you face on a daily basis and I know all poc have infinite different opinions so standing up for one poc might be offensive to a different poc. I promise I’m trying me best to just get racism out of this community!!

I am privileged and I do live in a gentrified area but I go to school it’s a tiny poor county town with a very small liberal arts also art art school with a large gay and afab and immigrant population! It’s an hour away from home so not around my gentrified area at all!
