Usually you’ll need to also pay for - electric (where I live I pay $50-$120 a mo) - internet (I pay $60 a month) - renters insurance (only $10 a mo for me) If you have pets then there’s usually a pet deposit (can range from like $100-$500) and pet rent ($25-50 a month) Gas, water and trash is usually included. And I know some apartments charge for parking (not sure how much tbh bc I’ve ever had to pay) And yes, unfortunately most do require 3x the rent. Some places it’s 2.5x
