If I remember correctly, it was bc pressure in the bottle builds and causes lids to explode off and in some cases hit people

Yeah, because getting hit on the eye by a projectile expelled by immense pressure tends to do that to a person.

Apparently it hit three peoples eyes I guess because they were directly looking at the bottle while opening it..
