I hate this so much. But at least your not being told anytime you wanna talk about something bad happening in your life (which is regularly..) that it is “god teaching you a lesson and guiding you back to him” … that esp drives me insane istg

Just makes me hate their stories even more when they say shit like that. “That school shooting was because of gay marriage” or “that hurricane is punishment for taking prayer out of school!” 😒

That’s not so much comfort. It’s kinda like making everything seem to be up to an unknown person like a higher up. It’s like a person before you said someone having cancer is in gods hands. Like please

I mean I feel like it’s either saying “you did something bad so god is punishing you” or it’s saying “god is heartless and kills without rhyme or reason” Either way, definitely makes me feel worse
