wwi started due to a relatively minor event, wwii started because of infighting within europe, just because this seems minor doesn’t mean it can’t or won’t cause a powder keg to blow up in our faces and lead to a larger scale war

Obviously a small incident CAN turn into a larger war, but I don’t see this one doing that. Both world wars were preceded by tensions building between multiple powerful countries for quite a while that landed them on opposite sides of said small incident. Of course I could be wrong, but I don’t see that happening in this case. If the tariff wars in Europe or China had escalated to physical conflict that seems much more likely to start a world war to me
