So for whatever reason, even though I’ve had an IUD for over a year, I’ve started my period. A week before I’m supposed to be getting some. What do I do?

The dosage released by an IUD decreases over time, so bleeding patterns can change even though it’s still protecting you from pregnancy. Hopefully it stops before your meetup but you could try asking for supplemental progestin to increase the dosage, tranexamic acid to promote clotting, or plan to wear a menstrual disc (not a cup), which collects blood without interfering with your IUD or sex.

omg don’t worry this is totally normal. Same thing happened to me. I didn’t have my period for the first 2 years of my IUD and then randomly started getting it again and have had it ever since, don’t stress, you don’t need to do anything

well IUDs are not guaranteed to stop your period, for most women they just make your period better (lighter, less painful, etc) so I’d wait and see how this period goes and the next period goes and see if they’re better
