I think if you do sci-fi you should maybe workshop a bit what it is that’s sci-fi about the art, I do think the novels of like “seemingly ordinary thing makes things weird” can be fun stories, I think it depends on what the vibe and narrative would be if you make it sci-fi vs everyday life
