Okay yall, I went driving for the first time with my mom the other day and it was actually traumatizing. I have been in the car while my older sister drove while she was learning and I hated it because my mom would freak out over everything

lol my mom did that to me growing up even though even when learning i was a better driver than her 💀 i ended up having my dad teach me instead cuz she would gasp and clutch the grab handles every time i started turning the car... we live in the mountains on a windy road

No bc my dad was like this and one time when we were driving to dinner he was out of his seat and screaming and my Mom told me to pull over and said “Do NOT tolerate this from anyone when you’re driving. And don’t move until he apologizes.” And I love her for that bc fr it’s dangerous and even if it gets you in trouble you have to put your foot down and show them you won’t operate a moving vehicle when they’re like that bc it’s distracting and unsafe

She might get pissed but afterward she’ll realize that’s exactly how she’d want you to react if one of your friends was keeping you from driving safely. Also shows that you’re in complete control of the vehicle and that you know when to stop. It’s the only thing that helped me.

I’m not sure how much that will help me because my parents don’t work like that (I’m black) but I will definitely try to communicate my feelings on the matter 🙏

Oop my Mom’s indian and my dad’s white so idk how that affects the dynamic but I just found that pulling over helped. But I hope you can make it work with your Mom and I’m sure you’re gonna be a great driver 🫶
