I like using it to review my hw and provide it with my rubric. It’s really unfortunate to see people use it for personal messages and things like that though

I think the most I’ve used ChatGPT was to double check any chemistry equations I had because I was skeptical of my math😭

chatgpt is a research assistant to i use it for that. i’ve used it for health issues then fact checked it and my doctors were impressed. i used to come up with a hair care routine that has gotten rid of my dandruff as well. i use it a lot but for stuff like that when i don’t wanna research all the science behind dandruff and knots in my back myself

I use it as a tool to help me keep track of my job search progress and bounce ideas off of based on my detailed progress. I can’t afford a career counselor or something like that so this is the best option I have

I don’t think you understand what I’m saying. I input my rubric with my essay and ask ChatGPT what my grade looks like it’s going to be

i agree in general i’m just saying that “just ask your teacher” isn’t always an option. i hate chatgpt too but if my teacher tells me to use it i’m not risking my grade just to make a statement.

girl. you said don’t use chatgpt to do your teacher’s job but if the teacher isn’t doing their own job then what is she suppised to do? if she doesn’t use chatgpt she’ll get a worse grade bc that’s what her teacher expects

i do the same to keep my grades up. i look at a preliminary to see if i need to do more work before submitting it. otherwise if its good enough i move on cause i got 6 others classes to do stuff for

Another thing is I am very gullible and fall for things easily. If I can’t find trustworthy information on my own or from others, I ask ChatGPT. Just found out that a job I was excited about might be a scam because of a red flag I was unaware of, and I wouldn’t have known if I just relied on my own searching and inner network

chatgpt is much more likely to mislead you than just googling things on your own tho

upvote 6 downvote

Anonymous replying to -> #12 10w

so ur solution to being gullible is to ask a random prematurely released engine that cant spell certain words correctly instead of learning how to figure out if a source is a good one or not? 💀

I don’t want to sound mean but using ChatGPT is the worst thing you could possibly do if you’re gullible. It’s an LLM which essentially means it works by being really good at bullshitting, and it just happens to be right a certain percentage of the time. The frequency with which they hallucinate is getting worse. Almost half of results are not factual. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2949719123000213

ChatGPT is well known for lying! It, and other LLMs, has made up sources, fabricated entire people and articles. It’s very important to be aware of your vulnerabilities and guard against them. Rather than ask ChatGPT, do your research, because even if you find less, it is more likely to all be true!

Yall I fact checked it. It just brought up the possibility of the red flag and I looked that up. I don’t blindly trust it. I always fact check. It’s just I wouldn’t have thought to look it up otherwise
