If anyone doesn’t know: your vaginal flora needs bacteria to maintain a healthy balance. If you kill off the bacteria, that allows the yeast population to grow unchecked, resulting in a yeast infection, among other possible issues. Only use mild unscented soap (or just water) on your vulva, and never clean inside your vagina!

I was taught to just really get in there with your hands and water. Should I be using soap? It doesn’t smell or anything so I thought I was good 😭

The skin where pubes grow is pretty much like the rest of your body, maybe a bit more sensitive. If you don’t have irritation from exfoliating there, you can continue. It’s where the skin changes to be more similar to the inside of your mouth that you have to be careful. What you put there is more likely to cause irritation and can start messing with flora. When you put products on your pubic area, you have to careful not to allow them into the more sensitive areas.
