Literally. I actually hold a general distain for politicians because majority are corrupt. Only some of the new generation politicians are actually trustworthy people

this is probably the only thing i agree with conservatives on sometimes as a leftist is that some (NOT ALL) liberals don’t hold their politicians accountable, especially when made in comparison to the far right. For example when the biden admin doubled down on deportations and ICE, and more recently in 2025 75 house democrats broke with their party's leadership to vote for republican resolution praising ICE personnel.

Honestly even if they do everything and are/seem trustworthy I’m still like “idk what’s gonna happen when you get a little more power” ykwim? Like I hope they keep the morals they run on but who knows

there’s a difference between choosing the “lesser of two evils” and acknowledging that you’re still choosing an evil. we know trump’s implementation is worse but can we admit that the deportations under biden, even with his form of “due process”, are still excessive and harsh? conservatives use comparisons like this as an excuse but liberals should not use it as an excuse to not expect better from democrats.
