Just a big lesson to all the people who didn’t take the pandemic seriously and refused to mask or get vaccinated. I, at 24, am in the process of being diagnosed with something similar to COPD bc of what COVID did to me. I wasn’t vaccinated.

I tested positive the day I was scheduled to get the vaccine

I had a medical event a bit after getting my first booster and the drs started recommending against me getting the shots. then some years later when I actually got covid it was so bad I couldn’t walk and I coughed so hard I did irreparable damage to my jaw

But my point is that it is a serious virus that can cause a lot of long term issues, and should be treated as such.

That’s what happened to me! I had a severe asthma attack the day after the booster and needed to go to the er. I has a similar reaction the other times, tho not as severe.

this is why i’m afraid to get the vaccine now tbh (my dad is anti-vaxx so while i was in his care during quarantine i never got it). i’m hearing ppl have horrible reactions and long term pain from it (which i do also know comes from covid). i have had covid before and im super careful when it comes to it. i’ve literally left college to go home and quarantine. i’m really conflicted tbh

on the other end of the spectrum, when i got the vaccine i didn’t even realize i got poked. i looked over at the nurse and asked something like “how’s it going over there?” (as in, are you ready) and she was like “oh it’s already done.” she gave me a bandaid and sent me on my way. i literally didn’t feel a thing, and no side effects afterwards either

oh yeah i’m def not worried about the actual shot, i have no fear around needles. i’m just worried about the side effects afterwards, unfortunately i know a lot of people who have had some and even still have effects to this day and it’s also scary ofc bc we don’t actually know how any of this effects us long term. i’ve been in limbo for a while trying to weigh the risks for both

sorry, i’m not sure i was super clear on what i meant 😅 i was sort of trying to imply that the after affects for me were just like the shot itself. seemingly nonexistent. i didn’t even feel sore… of course, because i worked in a senior home at the time, i probably ended up with an early version of the vaccine, so maybe that makes a difference idk

oh ok thanks! yeah that’s also what i’ve been thinking about, the version of vaccine i would get. but it’s good to hear from someone who didn’t have any negative effects

the vast majority of people had no or very limited side effects, like sore arm

I just get side effects bc of health issues I already had. But I’d rather have a mini asthma attack than end up hospitalized with covid
