Bro is armpit hair really that disgusting? I dont care about it fr but my mom freaks out and calls it gross and unsanitary. Is it really that bad to not shave?

No it’s literally there to protect your skin from friction, that’s why we have pubes too. it’s not unhygienic at all unless you’re unhygienic but that’s not the hair’s fault.

I personally don’t like it on anyone. I think it makes people more prone to smell, but what others do doesn’t bother me if they don’t stink 🤷🏻‍♀️

i remember when i was 15 and tried to argue with my parents about shaving (i shaved, but i was tired of them judging women who didn’t). i remember my mom yelling at me saying “that’s gross. we raised you better than that!” maam how is it unhygienic for women to not shave but not men 💀

i got into screaming matches with my mom over my unshaved pits when i was a teen. she called me nasty and shit, i was literally just chilling. i think she was mad that i was serving sweat glands

Literally no. It just comes from a long history of wanting women not to have body hair because it makes them look younger (and ironically closer to looking like a child which is just, gross?

These hairs are associated with apocrine sweat glands though which is why they develop during puberty

I personally sweat way more when I shave it all the way down, I trim it occasionally with an electric razor to keep it looking tidy but i definitely notice a difference.
