
if you can’t pass the bechdel test while and talk about feminism at the same time i think that’s a problem. if your feminism is entirely centered around your hatred of men then i really think you fundamentally misunderstand the mechanisms through which patriarchy is enforced and propagated. and ultimately your feminism will fail to be intersectional and often ends up being bioessentialist
i don’t think that’s what the post is about. it’s saying if you center everything about yourself around your hatred of men then that’s another way of centering men in your life. it’s kind of like anti vaxxers who think they’re anti authoritarian for not doing “what they’re told” even tho that still means letting other people think for them and pretending the choice is their own
i’ve definitely met plenty of people who’s idea of feminism is way more rooted in their hatred of men than of their love of women. i also don’t think it really matters how misogynistic men will react to stuff that’s said in a women’s centered space. this is where we get to talk about issues within community without it being airing out dirty laundry
