I genuinely think rape is a worse crime than murder sometimes. Sometimes a murder can be justified but rape never is.

As a rape baby, I think the punishment for rape should be death

I mean murder is never justified, ending a life out of self defense isn’t the same but I understand your sentiment. Rape is something a person usually lives with for decades

not an uncommon opinion

Murder can be used as self defense or a way to protect someone but rape is purely selfish and wrathful. Murder is still bad but rape is one of the worst crimes as they don’t kill you but instead make you wish that you were dead

As someone who’s been raped 7 times, I’d rather experience it again than be murdered. You can heal from rape, can’t heal from death.

Obviously both are awful but I think it’s a lot easier to recover from being raped than being murdered. Maybe that’s just me though

I mean as a crime, as a victim rape is genuinely horrible but I’m thankful to be alive. My point is that Rape should be more harshly criminalized because it’s never justified

Hey so they’re currently trying to label all queer people as rapists and predators. I get where your heads at but I need you to know that it would not be used how you want it to be.

Yes I am aware. That’s why I tried to say punishment should be death and not death penalty. Bc in addition to what they’re trying to do w lgbtq they did w black people. I could’ve worded it more diff

But I still stand by my opinion. The guy who raped my mom should’ve been put down. Anyone who rapes anyone should not have the benefit and opportunity of life, imo.

What situations are you thinking of when you say murder can be justified?

If it’s self defense then it’s not murder

Murder is something people live with for decades too. My little brother got murdered

I am in fact considering self defense, especially in situations where the court may not consider it as such (years of abuse leading to finally killing your abuser despite not being in technical life threatening danger)

But if your point is that rape should be more harshly criminalized than situations like killing in self defense that’s already how it is

Uhhh no it’s not?? Rape is rarely prosecuted and a lot of rapists are let off on parole, and there’s also many cases in which someone can be charged for murder even if it may have been justified (killing an abuser for example even if not directly “self defense”)

That’s because rape is significantly harder to prove than murder is. It sucks but that’s just how it is. I agree that in situations like you described the killing should be charged more lightly but lowering the standards for a murder to be considered “justified” would be an extremely damaging thing to do.

In another comment section they gave the example of killing an abuser. Technically murder because you weren’t physically threatened at the moment, but could be seen as very justifiable

I agree with the sentiment but even in cases like abuse, it’s extremely extremely rare for murder to be the best way out of the situation

I agree that it’s very rare. However rape is NEVER justified, like there is no point to it besides evil. So I think their point stands

Rape isn't necessarily harder to prove. Rape kits routinely never get checked by police and are left to rot on the shelf. Folks who report being raped are ignored or ruled against because of what they were wearing or how they behaved. Evidence is left at every crime, and evidence in rape cases is intentionally ignored
