Hot take- prostitution should Not be legal specifically and especially in this capitalistic hellhole we are currently living in. I wholly agree with the feminist lens of prostitution btw. However, if we legalize prostitution, i fear that a LARGE # of women would start prostituting themselves to pay for ESSENTIALS (food!!). My issue with this is WHY would women in the “greatest nation” have to exploit themselves to afford to live. I feel like it would just further the divide between classes &

Further stigmatize sex workers. That’s not to say I don’t think it should be legalized in a general sense!! I just think the state of the world and nation would make the legalization harbor very negative outcomes

I totally understand that. My view point is by making it legal it means that brothels and prostitutes in general can hire security and more emphasis would be on safety rather than legality and trying to stay hidden. It also means that laws and regulations and safety checks would be put in place which could counter sex trafficking and also lesson the demand

That is a great point!! I think this (much like every controversy) just depends on how you look at it- social or economical. There’s obviously no right or wrong answer, but you have a great argument honestly
