it just wasn’t something people thought about, pretty sure women weren’t allowed to have their own bank account/credit card without a man until the 80s

It was the 70s for the bank account but the sex this really threw me for a loop. People are SA’d by their partners all the time and to live in a world where that was LEGAL?! Unfathomable to me. Women really have to fight for every damn thing.
